Ideally you will have a Degree in Social Work or Behavioural Sciences from a recognised tertiary institution (or a minimum five (5) years’ demonstrated work experience with equivalent competencies relating to the case management of clients in the Criminal Justice System). Your experience with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities will also be highly regarded, as is experience working with male clients. ATSILS claims exemption under the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act (Section 25) in identifying this role for a male candidate; it is a genuine occupational requirement to be male.
