Our ATSILS Cairns Office is seeking a dedicated Respectful Workplace Legal Advocacy Officer for an emerging or suppressed client base. Legal Practitioner candidates will have a unique opportunity to focus on Community Legal Education for clients adversely impacted by workplace sexual harassment or sexually hostile workplaces. Be part of a growing, culturally rich team in Civil Law and our Community Legal Education strategies. Have a keen interest in developing and delivery of CLE materials to a wide range of clients – online and in-person, at workplaces, and other events.

To be successful in this role you must be admitted as a Legal Practitioner in Queensland and hold (or be eligible for immediate acquisition of) a current Practising Certificate. You will enjoy presenting, researching, gathering information and casework detail to support the growing trend of safety at work with a sexual harassment focus. Be able to represent clients in providing timely, confidential and efficient legal advice regarding rights at work. Have an interest in legal and human rights for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, particularly those vulnerable to sexually hostile workplaces. Be resilient, energetic, and reliable, with excellent project management skills.

Our Workforce Development Strategy will enable you to undertake team, individual and formal training to succeed. We will interview promptly and look to candidate who can commence within seven weeks of interview.
